Call for Action

Dear stsing members,
As announced in the last GA, we want to use the association’s funds to support formats for stsing members to gather, exchange, organize, and create stsing-relevant events and platforms, such as workshops, exhibitions, publications, excursions, conferences, etc. Twice a year, we will open submissions to gather your proposals. Each individual project proposal can ask for a maximum of 500€ (less can be requested, too), while support for the organization of the bi-annual stsing conference is provided with 1500€.

The next deadline for projects to take place in autumn/winter 2026/27 is 1 July 2026, midnight CET. The deadline for conference support for 2028 or project support for spring/summer 2027 is 1 December 2026, midnight CET.

Please include in your submission a description of the format, indicating its context, aim, target group, and relation to stsing as well as a cost calculation. Please send the application to
board[at]stsing.org.

We’re looking forward to receiving your submissions!

Disclaimer
Eligible are only stsing members (you must be a member at the time of submission as well as execution). Projects/ formats can be anything from a workshop to a publication, to a gathering or excursion (and more). Assigned funds may be used only for the proposed project and shall not exceed the requested amount. Every second year, the December deadline will also include a call for interest for conference organization supported by 1500€. If biannual conference support is not requested, more funds for small project applications will be made available for the following July deadline.

Assessment Requirements
We aim to fund as many formats as possible. If there are more successful applications than funds available, we will assess projects based on relevance and fit with stsing, timing, and budget. If there is no clear decision, we will use a lottery. All 7 board members will discuss proposals during the board meeting following the deadline. Each board member has one vote. Projects will be rated based on the number of votes and are considered successful if they receive at least 4 votes. We will keep optimizing the submission and assessment process based on the first iterations. Results will be announced no later than two weeks after the deadline.
