The marine stsing working group invites interested people to join their online sessions during this winter term.
The following sessions are planned:
- 20.11. 10:00-11:00 CET Kat Austen, Studio Austen Seoul / Berlin, Honorary Associate Professor, UCL Arts and Sciences, University College London will present her work on “The Constitution of the Sea”
- 11.12. 17:00-18:30 CET KEYNOTE Regine Rapp, Art Historian, Curator, Co-Director of Art Laboratory Berlin: “CRITICAL CURRENTS. Hybrid Art and Multispecies Care across the Seas”
- 15.01. 16:00-17:00 CET Claire Waffel, Bauhaus University Weimar, film screening and discussion on “I cannot see the future from here, on a (Welsh) coastal community affected by sea level rise”
- 22.01. 17:00-18:00 CET Honoring Michel Callon (1945-2025). Public discussion on Callon’s seminal study “Some elements of a sociology of translation: domestication of the scallops and the fishermen of St Brieuc Bay” (1984) with Kristin Asdal, Endre Dányi, Jörg Niewöhner, Cornelius Schubert, Estrid Sørensen. Daniels, Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto, and Sarah Rose Bieszczad, Leiden University on “Thinking Nodularly for Abyss(m)al times: An interdisciplinary test case on assembling narrative devices in (re)imagining future oceans“
